Apple Cider Vinegar for Weight-Loss

I love apple cider vinegar! The benefits of this great vinegar include alkalizing the body, lowering blood sugar levels, and aiding in weight-loss. Regular consumption of ACV can help promote better protein utilization and aids in the formation of growth hormone which keeps the body's metabolism running constantly.

You will remember from previous posts, metabolism is what keeps unwanted fat from building up in your body. When your metabolism is working correctly, it will be easier for you to lose weight. Not only that, but ACV can suppress appetite, preventing you from overeating and cleanses the body from harmful toxins and waste which helps improve intestinal health and nutrient absorption.

With all that in mind, here are some great drinks that contain ACV that you can try at home. Enjoy!

Apple Cider Vinegar Elixir


  • 1-2 teaspoons unfiltered apple cider vinegar with the "mother"

  • 1 apple

  • Small knob of fresh ginger

  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon powder

  • 1 teaspoon raw honey or maple syrup

  • 8 oz. water or sparkling water


  • Juice the apple and ginger together. Pour the juice into a glass and grate a little bit of fresh ginger into the cup.

  • Add the apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, honey or maple syrup, and water and stir to combine.

Apple Cider Vinegar Lemon Ginger Tonic


  • 1 cup warm water (not hot)

  • 1 Tablespoon unfiltered apple cider vinegar with the "mother"

  • 1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • 1/2 Tablespoon maple syrup or raw honey

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger


  • Add all ingredients to a blender and blend for about 30 seconds on high.

Morning Elixir


  • 1 Tablespoon whole chia seeds

  • Juice from 1/2 lemon

  • 1 Tablespoon unfiltered apple cider vinegar with the "mother"

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (not hot)


  • Mix all ingredients together and let rest for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until the chia seeds have formed a gel.

Dr. Axe's Secret Detox Drink


  • 1 glass of warm or hot water

  • 2 Tablespoons unfiltered apple cider vinegar with the "mother"

  • 2 Tablespoons lemon juice

  • 1/2-1 teaspoon ground ginger (or fresh)

  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 dash of cayenne pepper

  • 1 teaspoon raw honey


  • Mix all ingredients together and serve warm.

Strawberry Lime ACV


  • 3 large strawberries

  • 1 teaspoon ginger

  • 2 Tablespoons unfiltered apple cider vinegar with the "mother"

  • 2 cups water

  • Juice of 1 lime

  • Sweeten with honey or stevia to taste


  • Blend all ingredients for 10-20 seconds or until well combined.

  • Fill a quart size mason jar with ice. Pour the drink over the ice and enjoy!
