Tippy-Toe Twos
Ages 18 months-2 years & their mommies
For our littlest dancers, we will be providing an introduction to dance through exploration of movement and music. Students will learn how to build coordination, confidence, and calm through nervous system regulation exercises and creative movement. Moms participate in class time to encourage a special bonding time between them and their littles.

This class does not participate in our end-of-year showcase.

These little dancers should come dressed in their most comfortable outfits that are easy to move around in. Full ballet outfits (leotard, tights, skirt, etc.) are welcome but not required. Socks, ballet shoes, or even bare feet are acceptable. For the accompanying Mommas, we recommend comfortable clothes and socks, dance shoes, or bare feet.

This class will challenge students to use expressive movements of the arms and head for overall artistry. At this level, students begin to build the firm foundations for higher levels of dance. Finally, students will be required to remember routines and apply corrections effectively.

Pointe Levels I & II
Ages 12+
Students must have passed their preliminary evaluation with our La Belle Vie Dance staff to take this class.
Pointe is a priviledge, not a right. It is a tool and requires proper preparation before using safely. Students must have a firm foundation of posture and placement before they are allowed to participate in our pointe programs. Because the margin for error shrinks when en pointe, we want to ensure our dancers are strong enough to reduce the risk of injury or bad habits.
It is required that dancers wishing to take Pointe take 1 year of Pre-Pointe in preparation. The preliminary evaluation is also required and can be scheduled with La Belle Vie Dance at no additional cost to currently enrolled students. This evaluation cannot be scheduled until the student has completed at least 1 year of Pre-Pointe.
Non-LBVD students can schedule their evaluation for $35 provided they have taken a Pre-Pointe class at another studio. A failed evaluation requires the student to return to Pre-Pointe for another 6 months-1 year depending on the reason for failure. All dancers must complete an evaluation before joining our Pointe programs.

Pointe I is recommended for dancers in Ballet II while Pointe II is recommended for Ballet II and IV. For dancer who wish to be promoted to soloist or principle roles in our company, they are required to take pointe class.

Young ladies are required to wear the color leotard they are currently wearing in their ballet class. Please view our full dress code here.

Ballet III
Ages 15-17
*Instructor will place students based on skill level rather than age
Students will begin to rely on muscle memory to carry them through challenging routines. Everything should blend together beautifully and artistically. At this level, it can be easy to plateau if students are compartmentalizing their training which is why pointe will become an integral part of our Ballet III class. Students will also continue to work on the student's flexibility, coordination, strength, and technique through PBT-style exercises. Students taking Ballet III should already be taking a Pointe class in addition to their ballet training.

Ballet Baby
Prenatal Exercise for 1st-3rd trimester
We are so excited to introduce a program that incorporates some ballet-based fitness training for strengthening the body during pregnancy. Taught by a certified Prenatal & Postnatal Exercise Specialist. As a mom's body changes throughout pregnancy, balance, strength, and flexibility can be thrown off. These workouts will be low-impact while still incorporating small amounts of cardio to increase oxygen and blood flow throughout the body.

Ballet toning is very low-impact and incorporates core strengthening and pelvic stability to reduce the risk of bad cases of diastasis recti and other pelvic issues (i.e., prolapses, bladder leaks, tilted uterus, etc.). They will also incorporate mobility and balance training to avoid falling and/or misalignment in the spine and joints.

We will require all participants to consult their doctor based on specific health issues/concerns prior to attending a class and fill out a liability waiver beforehand.

Ladies are required to wear any modest activewear they feel most comfortable in.

All classes incorporate biomechanics and ROM (range of motion) training, neuromuscular and structural balance, increased power and endurance, and proper facilitation of joint movement. The workouts will be low-impact and may incorporate some free-weights, body-weight training, floorwork, low-impact cardio, balance training, and elements of PBT to strengthen and tone, increase aerobic endurance, and increase flexibility.

Pre-Pointe
Ages 9+
Special invitations may come from our La Belle Vie Dance staff
This class helps prepare students who are not yet ready to advance to pointe. Young dancers are more at risk, even at 12 years old, for foot and ankle injuries. Taking a pre-pointe class allows them to become more aware of the movements that will occur during a typical pointe class, how to reduce the risk common injuries, and how to strengthen the areas in which pointe works the most. Students will work to strengthen their ankles, feet, and legs to make the transition to pointe much easier. They will learn proper technique, combinations, choreography, and conditioning exercises that will eventually be performed in a pointe class. Since pointe work includes more than just feet, ankles, and legs, students will also be working on core strength, balance, and posture.

This class is required for dancers wishing to take our Pointe class. They must take at least 1 year of Pre-Pointe prior to their pointe evaluation. Students who have been through a Pre-Pointe class at another studio must schedule an evaluation with La Belle Vie Dance to determine whether they are ready to move forward. To ensure the safety of all of our dancers, all dancers, regardless of previous training, are required to complete a full pointe evaluation with La Belle Vie prior to attending a pointe class.

Flexibility Training
Grades 5-adult
Unlike a basic stretching class, which doesn't provide lasting benefits, this class teaches proper biomechanics and the "secrets" not commonly known about where flexbility actually comes from. Based on a decade of scientific research, Amanda has created a class that offers lasting flexibility and mobility gains for anyone interested in the anti-aging of joints and muscles.

Students will learn basic self-massage and stretching along with neuromuscular exercises to release tight areas. Self-massage helps release the nerves and fascia (myofascial release) to prevent injury when stretching while nervous system regulation provides an all-over calming effect.

This class is open to non-registered LBVD students as well to enhance their training.
