Teacher Assistant Program
Ages 14-adult
Is being a dance teacher a dream of yours? Or is it something you’ve been thinking about but are unsure of whether it’s right for you?
Our teacher assistant program is designed to give teens & young adults an opportunity to see if teaching dance is for them.
During the teacher assistant program with us, students are expected to perform a variety of tasks including, but not limited to:

Assisting in rehearsals

Learning choreography
-
Participating in classes and workshops
-
Attending performances and events
-
Work administrative tasks
-
Marketing
-
Fundraising
-
Event planning
-
Clean up and set up
-
And, of course, general assistance to the teacher during classes
Students should approach the experience with a positive attitude and willingness to learn. It is important to be proactive, ask questions, and be open to constructive criticism from supervisors. They should also set goals for themselves within the program as well.
Because students are working closely with the dancers, teachers, and specially designed curriculum for La Belle Vie Dance School, we do ask that participants maintain the long-term goal of eventually working with La Belle Vie. We want to encourage the aspirations of our teacher assistants, whether that be seeking a job elsewhere or even starting up their own studio, however, we are not out here to create our own competition.
Our ultimate goal is to help dancers in their journey toward figuring out their future plans in the dance world. We want to encourage our dancers as well as our assistants to reach for the stars and dream big because God has great plans for them! It will be important then for potential participants to take their onboarding process very seriously and consider where they wish to end up in 2, 5, and even 10 years and be completely honest with their supervisor about these plans. Honest communication will ensure that they get the most out of their program.
Finally, it is required that each participant be enrolled in a class with La Belle Vie to not only continue their dance education but also immerse themselves in our classes. Having experience as a teacher and a student will help them retain the information they are learning a lot faster and more efficiently. This can be done by enrolling in regular classes.

Being a dance teacher...
Being a dance teacher is one of the greatest blessings! We get to watch as our young students grow and mature. We get to be a part of their lives and build relationships with them. We get to share our love of dance with girls and boys who share that same love and want to know more.
Every week there is something new to share, and something new to learn. As a Christian dance teacher, I love having the opportunity to set a good example and be role model for young girls and boys. I love building lasting relationships with my students that will, hopefully and God willing, draw them closer to their Heavenly Father.
Whether you are a Christian or not, being a teacher of any kind is the most wonderful opportunity to train the next generation. To cultivate their hearts and encourage them to follow their dreams. To build relationships with their parents so that they will want to bring their child or children back again and again.
Your students will teach you compassion, love, acceptance, and patience. As a dance teacher, I’ve learned more than I’ve taught. It helped me grow into the woman I am today. If God has called you to be a dance teacher, congratulations! I am rooting for you! It is a beautiful calling. You will remember these times for the rest of your life.
Here at La Belle Vie, we are focused on providing a positive, encouraging, and safe atmosphere for our students to come to learn and be nurtured. This means that our studio will be free from gossip or judgement coming from our teachers, students, and even the parents of students. As teachers, we want to exemplify good conduct and Christ-like behavior. The ultimate goal is to encourage our students to pursue excellence in everything they say and do.
With an emphasis on strong technique and injury risk reduction training, we desire our students to be able to utilize their gifts and talents for ministry, teaching, and entertainment. Combining injury risk reduction training, we can go beyond dance to preserve their bodies for future endeavors whether it be pre-professional/professional careers or something entirely unrelated to dance.
As a teacher, you are required to build our students up and to encourage them with scripture, support, and understanding, acknowledging that every student has a purpose and different needs that need to be met.
Requirements:

At least 3 years of teaching experience at a reputable dance school/studio in the chosen style of dance

Applicant must be 21 years or older

Must have at least 3 genuine references
-
3 months of La Belle Vie teacher training in our curriculum
Recommended Experience:

Corrective exercise training or injury prevention training
-
AP Anatomy & Physiology and/or some aspect of Neuroscience
