In Ballet 1, we will be focusing on more challenging technique and center work as well as incorporating floor barre for strength and conditioning, proper épaulement, and body positions. Classes may also include various functional training exercises to improve balance, coordination, flexibility, extension, strength, posture, and much more. Students will begin to learn about muscular involvement for injury risk reduction and to improver performance and alignment.

 

It is required for our dancers in this class join our annual Dance Health and Wellness Workshop.

 

It is recommended but not required that they take 1 extra elective class (Pre-Pointe, Repertoire & Performance, and/or Conditioning/Injury Prevention).

 

Students enrolled in Ballet 1 have priority access to auditions throughout the year (currently unavailable). They will also be performing in our End-of-Year Showcase.​​

​Young ladies are required to wear deep purple or black leotards, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes (leather or canvas). Skirts are optional but not required. Hair MUST be pulled back into a bun. Those with shorter hair that will not go into a bun must have it pulled back into ponytail. Students will be required to have their hair fixed before entering the classroom.

Young men are required to wear white dance t-shirts, black tights/pants or dance shorts, and black ballet shoes (canvas or leather). Dance belts can be worn but aren't required.

 

For our 2025-2026 dance season, classes take place Tuesdays 3:30-4:30 (1 hour).

An annual registration fee is required. Registration closes on September 1st. Classes begin September 9th.

​We accept checks (made out to Providence Arts LLC), cash, and card (3% surcharge added). Invoices will be sent out on the first Monday of each month and must be paid within 7 days ($15 late fee will be required if your invoice is not paid within 10 days).

For PEP and Step Up programs, please provide the teacher with a pre-filled receipt to sign after class.
